Overwhelmed and grateful

That’s how I felt as donations came rolling in from my plea for a new computer and software! I created a “GoFundMe” last month and posted it to the Cedar Mill News Facebook page the night before we went to print, just to see what would happen, and by morning there were several hundred dollars already! Once the April issue was published, the momentum increased, and donations exceeded my original target.

Good thing, because it turned out I needed a more expensive machine! I increased the goal and even that was exceeded. Adding in the checks that arrived in the mail, and I had enough to get my new iMac, the Adobe suite of software, and an updated version of Office. I’ll likely find additional new software that will be required to run on the latest operating system (OS) so the surplus will come in handy! Heartfelt thanks to all who donated!

While it takes some work to move into a new computer, the worst is over, and this issue was created with the new stuff! Thanks to Bob Russell, who volunteered to get me a good price with his reseller account, and is also providing valuable tech support! As a self-employed person for the last 20 years, sometimes I long for an IT department I can call on! It’s nice to know he’s there to help me figure things out.
