Super Smash Tourney

Compete in our Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament. Meet your friends and play console games together. Switch, Wii, and Gamecube games are available. Tournament will be played with library consoles and controllers, but participants can bring well-labeled controllers to use with non-tournament devices. All characters available except DLC. Registration required.

Building Textured Worlds: Diversity in Sci-fi and Fantasy World Building Workshop (NaNoWriMo Series)

The worlds of sci-fi and fantasy suffer from a lack of diversity, and even though strides have been made in recent decades many authors may be unsure about how to be more inclusive in their storytelling. Join Brian Parker as he goes over character development and world building principles that you can use to add more texture to your worlds. Part of our NaNoWriMo Challenge.

Fighting Climate Change

Concerned about climate change but don’t know what you can do about it? Come learn about how Oregon’s climate is likely to change and the many effects of those changes. We will also discuss ways in which the state is responding to the climate threats and ways you can help fight and prepare for climate change, including taking advantage of the financial incentives available from the Inflation Reduction Act.

Come to the library and talk to insurance advocates from Health Plans in Oregon who can help you choose the plan that is right for you.

Supporting Your Child’s Literacy in K-3

Find out more about your child’s literacy development and their progress towards becoming an independent reader. Learn how the Science of Reading can help you support your child’s literacy development in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
