• Our heritage trees: In the iconic 1905 photo of the JQA Young House on Cornell, you can see a pear tree with a ladder leaning against it. That tree has survived along with its neighboring apple tree, but both of them were in bad shape.

Wildlife in Our Parks

Blacktail deer roam throughout our parks and along stream corridors, and sometimes appear in our yards!

A tree frog croaks in the distance. A banana slug slithers on the ground beside you. You can hear songbirds singing and see a freshly chewed tree stump, evidence of beaver. These are just some of the wildlife sightings you might experience while walking through Jordan Woods Natural Area.

CMBA helps bring musical bench to Cedar Mill

Katie Smith is the Community Outreach coordinator for the Cedar Mill Business Association, in addition to being Sales Manager of The Ackerly at Timberland. CMBA was looking for a project to replace the hanging flower baskets (since funding had dwindled), when she learned about Tualatin Valley Creates (TVC) and got in touch with Raziah Roushan, Executive Director.

When it is completed, it will connect the Westside Trail from SW Greenbrier Parkway to NW Cornell Road through the BPA powerline right-of-way behind the industrial area on Science Park Drive.
